The Death and Life of Edward Reed is a compelling and thought-provoking vision of what might happen to a person after death. Author Dawn Hogue tackles a speculative topic–the afterlife–and makes it convincingly real. Through her strong characters, settings, and historic references, we go on a journey with Eddie Reed through many lives, times, and places. As the story unfolds, we experience all the things that make us human: grief, joy, misunderstanding, guidance, surprise, learning, redemption. It was hard to put this book down because I really wanted to know what was going to happen next to Eddie. When would he find peace with himself and understand the meaning of life? A great read!
